Honest limits
This tool analyzes the HTML you paste using standard heading-structure rules (one H1, no skipped levels, no empty headings). It cannot see CSS, JavaScript-rendered content, or visual hierarchy — and clean headings are a relevance and accessibility signal, not a ranking guarantee.
How to use the Heading Analyzer
- Open your page, right-click, and choose View Page Source — copy the HTML.
- Paste it into the input box above.
- Press Analyze headings — the outline tree and every issue appear instantly.
- Fix flagged problems in your template, re-paste, and confirm the tree is clean.
Examples
Example
HTML with two <h1> tags and an H2 jumping straight to H4 produces 3 flags: "2 H1 tags found (expected 1)", "Skipped level: H2 → H4", each pointing at the exact tag. A clean page shows a tidy nested tree and "No issues found".
What this tool doesn't do
- Only the pasted HTML is analyzed — CSS styling, JavaScript-rendered content, and visual order are invisible to this tool.
- Heading rules are best-practice guidelines (one H1, no skipped levels); edge cases in complex apps may legitimately differ.
- Clean headings aid relevance and accessibility; they do not guarantee rankings.
